True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar; it is not haphazard and superficial. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.
I'm a bigger fan of abolition and not restructuring, but the point is that individual assistance without systemic change ensures there will always be individuals who need assistance.
